Hongyu earned Ph.D. Degree from Institute of Neuroscience, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in Shanghai, China, in 2013. Her studies were related to the calcium channel intracellular localization and function in the neurological diseases ( such as stroke and Alzheimer’s disease). In 2014, she joined in Columbia University Medical Center in New York City as a postdoctoral research scientist to investigate the mechanisms of Parkinson’s disease and Autism. In 2018, she was promoted as an associate research scientist and focused on the role of MMPs on cervix remodeling.
