Changhon Lee, Ph.D

Postdoctoral Researcher
Lab member since 2023

Changhon Lee earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences from Konkuk University. He obtained his Ph.D. in the Department of Life Sciences at the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Sin-Hyeog Im. His research focuses on understanding the gut microbiota-immune axis. During his doctoral program, he worked on identifying microbial species and molecules with immunomodulatory potentials. In addition, he studied chemical and functional properties of the molecules and investigated the underlined mechanisms. Using immunoregulatory microbiota and microbial molecules, he examined the prophylactic/therapeutic efficacies within multiple experimental animal models of inflammatory/autoimmune diseases. After completing postdoctoral research training in the same lab, he moved to the Huh Lab for postdoctoral research training in 2023 to further understand and research microbiota-neuro-immune interactions. He is interested in studying the role of microbiota and the immune system in regulating brain functions in diverse neurological disease settings.
